It’s Monday afternoon and already to-do lists are stacking up. It feels like the weekend will never come but we’ve found the perfect way to forget all of that. Escape the office to while away the twilight hours with intoxicating company and beverages as part of London Cocktail Week. Now a regular fixture on the city’s social calendar this year’s event is bigger than ever with 160 participating bars across the capital (that means you’d have to go to over a twenty a night to visit them all!). Each is offering a special £4 cocktail for wristband-holders as well as events and masterclasses. Here is our pick for the week’s offerings:
When we saw the words ‘pop-up’ and ‘cocktail bar’ followed by ‘on a boat’ we knew this was an experience we had to get in on. Take a trip on this tricked-out canal boat for a literal booze cruise down Regent’s Canal. Running from Granary Square every day this week.
A must for any aspiring mixologist, this pop-up bar allows you to create your own libations using Monkey Shoulder whisky.Masterclasses are also on offer for those who really want to learn how to do it like a pro. 53 Monmouth Street, every day this week.
If you want to learn the tricks of the trade in a more unusual location head to the Bar at the Courthouse Hotel, a repurposed Victorian prison whose cells have hosted many high-profile defendants including Mick Jagger and John Lennon.19-21 Great Marlborough Street, 7-9 pm
